Not much to say

My mom keeps telling me that I need to update my blog more, but I have been so sick and so tired lately that it's all I really talk about. I am sure no one wants to know how crappy I feel everyday all day! We have another doctor's appointment on December 16th, so I will post the ultra sound photo from that and a picture of my lovely profile.

Thanksgiving was amazing! I can talk about that! We spent the afternoon with Morgan's family and had a really big, filling meal! I love his family so much, I feel very lucky to have them in my life. Then we headed to my parent's house. My mom made the most amazing spread and the house looked amazing! It was also my idea to get a fire pit for the backyard (sorry Melissa) and it was a hit. We ate, everyone drank (a lot) but me, we played hide n' seek for the first time in 9 years and we sang around the fire; it was the best time. My sister forced my nephew Ben and little cousin Brent to eat what Ben kept calling "the feast". I have never laughed so hard, Ben was gagging all the way through, but he took a bite of everything which I had never seen him do in is life!

I kept looking around at everyone all night and realized how blessed I am. I am healthy, I have an amazing family, an incredible husband and a baby on the way!

For those of you who don't know...

I am pregnant! Yes it was planned and yes Morgan and I are happier than we have ever been. I say yes it was planned because people have asked me that and I think it is such an odd question to ask. Anyways, the baby is due June 9th and knowing my family history the baby will probably be born sometime in July!
The past few months have been a rollercoaster of emotions. I have stopped drinking coffee entirely, drinking booze is out of the question and apparently smoking crack ins't good for the baby either. So basically I had to quit all of my bad habits cold turkey:) I thought it would be harder than it was, but knowing that another little life is depending on me has made it extremely easy.
The first weeks were tough, I had all day sickness (morning sickness my ass) and my emotions were at an all time high. Thank god I have an understanding husband! I also found out that I have 2 decent sized fibroids, one on the back side of my uterus and the other on the side. It was scary to hear at first because the doctors thought it could have been a number of things (tumor included). We were happy to find out that they are not in the way of the babies growth. My midwife told me that I will probably look big faster than a normal pregnant woman because of them and if anyone comments on how big I am I should tell them to mind their own business. This piece of advice frightened me. How big am I actually going to get, geez!? Will I look like an elephant!?
Anyways, it's not about me anymore, it's about the baby chilling in my uterus. I love it already and I can't wait to find out what it is so I can stop calling it it!

Baby Olive!!!!

I had such an amazing time on Saturday night! My cousin Kyle, his wife Marie, their little girl Eva, my cousin Jenny, her new baby Olive and my dad’s cousin Wendy all came over to my parent’s house. It was so nice to have all of us under one roof again. We grew up with Kyle and Jen and at one point they were at our house every other weekend for the good part of a year, maybe even more actually. I think it’s so cool when you love your family so much that no matter how much time has passed it isn’t awkward. Jen and I were sooo close growing up. When we were little we would dress alike hoping that people would think we were twins and most of the time they would..idiots! Jen and I have gone our separate ways over the past 10 years, but every time I see her it’s like no time has passed. Jen, I know you are reading this  I love you very much and I am so proud of you. You are an amazing mother to Olive already and she is a very blessed little girl to have you as her mother. It was so nice catching up on Saturday and I am glad we have these silly little blogs to keep in touch. Give Olive tons of kisses from please! I didn’t get very many good pics, the lighting was horrible, but I think these will do!

Anniversary!

I think I am caught up on documenting big events in my life after this post! Actually, I will be back on Sunday because Saturday I get to see my cousin Jen and her new baby Olivia! I am so excited! OK, back on track now...

September 15th was mine and Morgan's 2 year wedding anniversary! I honestly cannot believe it has been 2 years! It has been the best 2 years of my life. I found a list in one of my old diaries I wrote when I was single of what I was looking for in a man. Morgan met every single criteria (except for the tall part) which he mentioned the other day and laughed! :) To Morgan: I don't care boo, i love everything about you. Life gets crazy and we are busy, stressed and tired, but every time I feel anxious about everything I remember that I have Morgan to come home to and I feel happy.

On our actual anniversary we went to a Malibu, had fish and chips at the Reel Inn, went to Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, shopped, had a couple of beers at Barney's and for dinner ate at our favorite hole in the wall Chinese food place by our house. Then this past Saturday, we went to the Magic Castle in Hollywood. You have to be a member or be invited by a member to go. Morgan's student invited us and gave us his VIP passes to get in without paying. We had to dress up really nice! Morgan looooves to dress up, he is so cute. If he had it his way he would dress up in a suit everyday :) I love him. We had such an amazing night. The place is 22,000 square feet at and you are allowed to go anywhere you want in the castle. There are bars and people doing magic tricks everywhere! I need a membership to this joint!!!!!! We couldn't take any pictures inside, it wasn't allowed. I love places that have weird rules, it makes you feel special and honored to be there!

Recording!

Ladies and gentleman....The Slater Sisters and their amazing band are in the studio! We are recording a new CD and we are Pumped! Pumped actually does not do how excited we are justice! Morgan got us into a studio at the LA Recording School which is owned by his work the LA Film School. He had to do 16 hours of training to get us in! He is honestly the best husband and best friend a girl could ask for. So now we are in! We also have an amazing engineer named Matt and his girlfriend Lucy (who is helping out as well), who both went to the Berklee School of Music in Boston. He is engineering for free because he loves to do it and hasn't been in a studio in months. We will just say that we are extremely blessed right now because recording costs a fortune and right now we are paying everyone in Roro's chicken (Morg's favorite food on the face of the earth).

Walk On!

Two weeks ago, Lauren and I participated in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. It was probably the most inspirational 2 days of my life. It restored my view of humanity and it still makes me teary eyed when I think about it. I am actually welling up as I type. Lauren and I along with over 3,000 other men and woman walked 39.3 miles for the same cause. People were following us as we walked through Long Beach, cheering us on and thanking us. One, in particular was a woman who had Breast Cancer, she didn't wear a hat or a scarf to cover her head that was almost completely bald. She held signs thanking us for supporting her through this struggle. I have never been more humbled in my life. The second day of the walk was the anniversary of my cousin Ian's passing. It was on our minds all day, and every once in a while we would look at each other and well up. I am glad we were surrounded by so much positivity that day. I have to say that even though Lauren and I were both in so much pain, neither one of us complained. We walked with blisters and achy legs because we knew why we were doing it. I will participate again next year and I want to say, thank you to all who donated; we couldn't have done it without you! Below are a few of my favorite pictures, enjoy!

Dear Morgan

Dear Morgan,

I am sorry I have been so hard to deal with lately. Sometimes I am in my own world and forget how my bad mood affects you. You are patient and kind when I get like this. I appreciate and love you more than you will ever know. We are coming up on our 2 year wedding anniversary next week and I have never been happier and more content in my life. I never wanted to be content, but I am ok with it now because we have managed to help each other grow as people while keeping our inividuality and independence. I also love that we can rely on one another for anything. I am so excited for what the future holds for us. I will love you until the day we both die and beyond....

Big League Chew!

I almost forgot these gems!

OREGON!

Well, we did it! We drove 2000 miles in 2 1/2 days. It was actually more fun and less stressful than I thought it would be. It may have been the fact that we were getting paid and we didn't have to pay for gas. Morgan and I had a blast! We sang, danced, laughed ate Big League Chew, and we used our "road-trip" as an excuse to eat like shit. We literally ate at every fast food restaurant you can imagine. We are now on a strict diet, but it was fun while it lasted!

The trip was also fun because we got to see where Morgan's sister Nikki lives in Davis. It was so late and dark by the time we got up there that we didn't have much time to hang out. We talked with her and her roommates for about 2 hours, went to bed at 2:00AM and woke up at 4:30 AM to hit the road. We drove all day Saturday, so we ended up about an hour and a half past Eugene. We went past my Uncle Keith's house on the way up and then turned around because that's where we would sleep. He and Alicia live in Grants Pass; it is soooo beautiful there!

It was so nice to see my Uncle Keith and Alicia. They took such good care of us. They had an amazing dinner on the table when we go there, which included bbq chicken, potato salad, grilled veggies and a bowl of fruit. It wasn't within mine and Morg's diet for the weekend but we made an exception :) Then they showed us around their town! They took us to a park nearby and there was a hippie festival going on (that's not what it was called, but that's what I called it!). We went to a little pond in the park, fed the ducks then UK and Alicia treated us to ice cream. Then we sat on the deck at their house, drank a couple of beers and looked up at the stars. You can actually see the stars there!

We had to wake up the next morning at 4:00 AM so we said our goodbyes and went to bed around 10:30PM. We woke up to the smell of bacon and coffee! UK and Alicia woke up before us, made breakfast, packed us snacks and sent us on our way! We felt so loved and cared for, so thank you UK and Alicia, we love you!

It was a great trip and the only horrible annoying part happened once we got back to LA. We still had 100 miles left to put on the odometer when we got home so we had to drive around LA until 8:00PM. We got it done, but driving 16 hours straight is rough!
